I am Kirsten Odendaal, an internationally experienced engineer passionate about solving complex problems through data-driven insights. My journey began with a foundation in Mechanical Engineering, transitioned to Naval Architecture and Maritime Research, and has now led me to the exciting realm of Machine Learning and AI.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, a Master’s degree in Maritime Technology from TU Delft, and currently pursuing an MSc in Computer Science (Machine Learning and AI) at Georgia Tech, I have continually sought to blend my engineering expertise with cutting-edge technology. My diverse experience spans from designing and optimizing mechanical systems to leading groundbreaking projects in maritime research and AI-driven solutions.

I have led innovative projects, including the development of data-driven pipelines that revolutionized performance predictions, resulting in international recognition with awards such as the Maritime Designer of the Year 2022.
